Writing Articles – How Can It Affect Your Traffic?

By Kathleen Burch | January 25th, 2012

Do you know what are the things to consider when you are writing your article? It would all depend on what you want to convey to your reader. What is it you want to do: inform, present the issues, or complain? How do these styles of writing, and the words you use, effect your readers and your traffic?

Information for your Reader On the Internet, the most prevalent of articles is the informative article. Readers on the Internet would want to resolve an issue that they are currently facing or they want to learn which is why they connect to your article. Viable facts and possible solutions should be presented to the reader by the “how to” or “factual” piece. Thanks to these types of articles, your creditability on the Internet as an expert can increase.

Pro and Con Article You can slant the article either for or against when you use this type of article. Another option is to present both sides and let your reader draw their own conclusions. Regardless if you are for or against the issue, you should back it up with facts. Why? Your creditability is on the line, as always.

To Complain Okay, this article really isn’t a type. What the writer uses in this case is the article in order to pulpit to express his complaints. You will get people to listen if it was presented tastefully. However, if it is more of an “I’m mad at the whole world” scenario – then this writing should be reserved to a blog – your own.

There are alot of articles out there that are uniformative and not well written at all. In case the author has nothing good to write about, then perhaps he should look to another line of work. An example would be some authors that write the same type of article every time and they complain and criticize. Your website will not flourish if you only use these types of articles. Most readers may find it distasteful, uninformative, or offensive. The lesson here is that if you complain, you need to make sure that you can support your claims and don’t do it too often or over time you will lose your readers.

There are actually positive and negative ways on how you can present your words to your reader. It is up to you on how you would want to present them in words. But remember, the click of the mouse is still the choice of the reader.
